• Refuge House has two emergency shelters: one in Leon County and one in Taylor County. Our shelters offer a safe place for adults and families at risk of domestic violence, sexual assault or prostitution, who have no other safe housing option. For the safety and security of those at Refuge House, the locations of the shelters are confidential.

  • While in shelter, residents are provided with emergency foods, linens, clothing and other needed personal items. Staff members are here to help you meet your goals for housing, jobs, family support and any other “next steps” you have in mind. Special activities are designed to help children begin the process of recovering from violence as well. We plan on a 45-day stay for shelter residents.

  • We believe in you. You are in charge of your decisions and all services are voluntary. Please call the hotline, any time, for more information.
