TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) — Juandalynn Pittman’s shirt says it all.
“I’m a five year survivor,” said Pittman. “I actually dealt with abuse basically my entire life.”
Pittman says she had been in abusive relationships since she was just 16. It wasn’t until she saw another woman’s death from domestic violence in Quincy on the news that she decided to get out once and for all.
“I count it as a blessing to be a survivor cause many didn’t make it this far.”
Now, she shows up every year to the Refuge House’s candlelight vigil to support survivors and remember those that didn’t.
