On Thursday, one of Tallahassee’s classic rivalry games is going to do something unexpected: bring two schools closer together under a cause everyone can get behind.
Each year when Rickards and Godby high schools play each other in football, the community comes out to witness the iconic clash on the gridiron. Collectively, the schools’ colors are blue, yellow and white. You will notice players and fans donning some green at the game this year.
The movement behind the green is one that is changing schools across the country. It began with an organization Green Dot, Etc., which put into place what is called the Green Dot Prevention Strategy.
