The Refuge House, an advocacy and resource center for sexual assault victims, celebrated the opening of its new stand-alone clinic Thursday.
Noting the immense collaboration between adjacent Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, community advocates, law enforcement and volunteers, Refuge House Executive Director Meg Baldwin commended the devotion to survivors of sexual assault.
“I wish that every victim who comes through the doors of our SAFE Center over the years to come could see us all gathered here, a family of allies and advocates and champions and feel less alone,” Baldwin said. “We’ve all imagined having a facility like this for a long time.”
